Is the “cancel culture” still alive in Lithuania? Lithuanian publishing house withdraws J.D.Vance’s book “Hilbilly Elegy”!

SUPPORT OUR FIGHT AGAINST LEFT LUNATICS!

“Sofoklis” withdraws from sale J.D. Vance’s book “Hilbilly Elegy” until the US foreign policy towards Ukraine is changed,” the Lithuanian publishing house said in a post on its social network, urging readers to look for other books by Ukrainian authors and to donate to Ukraine.

The withdrawal of JD Vance’s book “Hilbilly Elegy” from Sofoklis is an interesting example of the implementation of the “culture of withdrawal”.

Obviously, this action is directed exclusively to readers in Lithuania, because it is really hard to imagine that JD Vance would be disturbed in any way by the fact (if he is even aware of it?) that his book has been withdrawn from sale in some small Eastern European country of 2.5 million people.

If that is the case, then the action in question has absolutely no bearing on the actual policy of the United States, which, at least in the declaration, is what the publisher intended. The action is therefore ineffective and does no good.

On the contrary, it attempts to restrict the ability of Lithuanian readers to get to know the thinking of one of the main representatives of the current US administration, and thus to restrict the ability of Lithuanian readers to get to know reality.

It is hard to imagine a more phantasmagorical picture of the ‘light’ bearers, which I guess the publishers of Sofoklis consider themselves to be.

Or is it purely a business calculation. The reaction of the Lithuanian public to the change in the US position on Ukraine has been noted, and it has been decided that further distribution of JD Vance’s book is “dangerous”.

If this is the case, I urge our readers to privately distribute the contents of this book, electronically or physically, to the satisfaction of Lithuanian readers who want to know an accurate picture of the surrounding reality.
